Police near Boston, in Quincy, MA are calling on the public to find the person who abused a dog so severely she couldn’t be saved. Found with no name and no one to answer for the years of suffering she endured, the frail dog was named “Puppy Doe.” Puppy Doe sustained more than 17 injuries in the one to two years she was alive. The Animal Rescue League of Boston, Quincy Police Department and Norfolk District Attorney’s office are asking the public’s help in identifying the person responsible for the animal torture. What is concerning is that those who did this to Puppy Doe could now be abusing another animal or even a person. The Animal Rescue League of Boston is offering a $5,000 reward for anyone with information that leads to the arrest of the person who severely abused, Puppy Doe, before she was euthanized in Weymouth.The ARL is also asking for people to donate money to the help pay for the law enforcement’s efforts in finding the perpetrator.The ARL has already received hundreds of phone calls and has received a little over $2500 in donations, according to a news release on their website.
Donations will go directly to on-going law enforcement efforts on behalf of Puppy Doe and others like her. Funds donated on behalf of Puppy Doe in excess of this reward will go directly towards preventing future cases of animal suffering, cruelty and neglect.
